Year 5 Art Workshop at Caterham School

Some of our Y5 children took part in an Art workshop at Caterham School. The workshop introduced the children to the fundamentals of etched prints and printmaking.
The etching task began with an introduction to the materials and tools required, including the etching paper, etching needles, and printing ink. The children thoroughly enjoyed the process, ensuring the ink filled all the etched lines before wiping the surface to reveal their picture. They were then given a demonstration of the printing press to transfer their etched designs onto paper. Finally, the children coloured in their pieces to bring their pictures to life.
