As part of their History topic, Year 1 took part in a ‘Dress for the Decade’ day and what a lot of fun they had! They started the day with a catwalk to see which decade everyone belonged in. Then it was time to go back to the Victorian era with strict teachers (who were not quite dressed as stern Victorians), desks in rows and writing on slates.
In the afternoon, they were brought slightly more up to date with party games from the second half of the 20th century. The children coped wonderfully with simple games and fewer prizes! Victorians joined in with people from the 50s to the 80s; they even had a Second World War soldier and an astronaut!
Thank you to all the parents who helped the children to look the part. It was a day to remember.
