Reception enjoyed a wonderful Autumn walk at Box Hill. They began with warm drinks, biscuits and a reading of The Leaf Thief by Alice Hemming - a charming story about a squirrel discovering the mystery behind falling leaves.
Inspired by the tale, the children explored the natural play trail, spotting signs of Autumn and comparing them to changes seen in Summer. They loved collecting leaves and sticks to build dens, embracing the season's changes.
As part of their forest school learning, each child received a pinecone ‘hedgehog’ to build a cosy nest for, thinking carefully about safe and sheltered spots. At the end of the trip, the children all enjoyed climbing and balancing in the wooded area.
Thank you to Mr White and Mrs Warren for driving the minibuses. The children all loved learning the song 'Everywhere we go" and were wonderful ambassadors - polite, cheerful and full of enthusiasm. The teachers were proud of them all.
