Year 6 Art Workshop at Beaumont Care Home

Year 6 recently visited Beaumont Care Home, where they were warmly welcomed by eight residents. They supported the residents in a fun and creative arts and crafts activity. Using plastic bags filled with air, the residents created beautiful flower patterns on textile fabric, adding details with cotton buds. The children assisted them in bringing their floral designs to life.

To add a personal touch, some residents included their initials on the artwork. Year 6 have brought the fabric back to Micklefield School where they will use our school sewing machines to hem and sew the fabric into personalised cushions. They are looking forward to returning to Beaumont Care Home to present the residents with their handmade gifts soon.

All the children were wonderful ambassadors for Micklefield, demonstrating respect, responsibility, and above all, kindness to the residents. The visit was a wonderful experience for everyone involved, highlighting the power of creativity and community spirit.
