RGS Girls Hockey Masterclass at Hartswood

Year 5 and 6 girls visited Hartswood (RGS Sports ground) for an exciting hockey training session, led by two of the RGS hockey coaches.
The session kicked off with various individual stick and ball activities, focusing on quick ball movement and close control. RGS coaches Mr Field and Mr Russell then guided the girls through paired drills, emphasizing short passes and strong slap passes. The session concluded with small-sided games and half-pitch matches, giving the girls plenty of space to showcase their skills in competitive scenarios.
The morning was brilliant and provided a wonderful chance to play on a full-sized astro pitch and fully immerse in the game of hockey.
