House Assemblies Focus on Responsibility

The School came together for the first House Assemblies of the Spring Term. The theme for the session was our Micklefield value of the term: Responsibility.

House Assemblies are a wonderful way for different year groups to come together across the School, build relationships and strengthen our sense of family here at Micklefield.

Working in small groups, each House took part in activities designed to help children reflect on what responsibility looks like in everyday life:

  • Cranston completed jigsaw puzzles that revealed different ways we can show responsibility.

  • Fonteyn thoughtfully created responsibility‑themed New Year’s resolutions.

  • Somers designed a vibrant Responsibility Wall filled with examples of responsible actions for the WorldOthers and Myself, including being kind, helping others, turning off lights, sharing, recycling and litter picking.

  • Waterlow also built a Responsibility Wall, adding pledges such as packing their own school bag and snack, tidying their room, looking after pets, unloading the dishwasher and making their bed.

Across all Houses, the children were reminded that responsibility involves teamwork, kindness and doing the right thing even when it feels challenging.
