Think Week Inspires Kindness Across the School

This week, we were delighted to welcome Sparkfish back to Micklefield for our annual Think Week. Each class spent time in the dedicated "Think Space", taking part in a variety of calm, creative and reflective activities centred around our school value of Kindness.

Throughout the week, children explored what kindness means and how small acts can make a positive difference to others and the world around them. They wrote thank you notes and messages of appreciation, reflected on people who have shown them kindness, and worked together to create LEGO kindness projects using their listening and teamwork skills.

Creativity flourished as pupils made origami birds, created flowers and trees from tissue paper for a collaborative paper garden, and added thoughtful messages to a special Kindness Tree. Children also reflected on the people, animals, trees and oceans that share our world and considered how we can care for them.

Our younger children enjoyed quiet reflection while holding a candle and thinking of something kind they could do for someone else. They then expressed their thoughts through drawings of the things that make them feel happy.

Think Week provided a valuable opportunity for children to pause, reflect and celebrate the importance of kindness in our daily lives. We are grateful to Sparkfish for another inspiring visit and for helping our pupils explore how kindness, gratitude and empathy help create a caring school community.
