Boys Sports News 

It has been another exciting week of football for the boys at Micklefield, beginning with a fantastic achievement for our Year 5 team at the RSM U10 Football Tournament on Saturday.

The boys competed in four closely contested matches against strong opposition. After narrow defeats to Caterham (0-1) and RSM (0-2), the team showed great determination and resilience to finish strongly, earning a 1-1 draw against Chinthurst before securing an excellent 1-0 victory over Hawthorns. Playing in a league format, the four points they collected were enough to secure third place overall and bronze medals. It was a wonderful morning of high-quality football, and the boys represented the School superbly throughout.

Back at school, all Upper School boys were in action this week against Banstead Prep School.

The Year 3 boys got proceedings underway on Tuesday with three entertaining matches. The A team were defeated 6-3, the B team recorded an impressive 6-2 victory, and the C team battled hard to earn a 3-3 draw.

There was an even spread of results for the Year 5 and 6 boys on Wednesday. The A team lost 3-0, the B team secured a convincing 3-0 win, and the C team produced a solid defensive performance in a 0-0 draw.

The Year 4 boys tipped the balance in Micklefield's favour with two excellent victories, as the A team won 2-1 and the B team delivered an outstanding 6-0 success.

Congratulations to all the boys who represented the School this week. Their enthusiasm, teamwork and determination were outstanding, and they should be very proud of their efforts.

Girls Sports News

It has been a busy week of sport for the girls, with netball and football fixtures.

The U9 girls enjoyed a fantastic afternoon of netball against Ewell Castle, with both teams recording impressive victories. The A Team were outstanding in a 9-0 win, while the B Team battled hard to secure a well-deserved 1-0 victory. The girls showed excellent teamwork, determination and sportsmanship throughout.

The U11A girls travelled to Halstead St Andrew's Prep School to compete in the Independent Schools Cup (football). Facing strong opposition, the girls worked tirelessly, showing great commitment in both attack and defence. Although the result did not go their way, there were many positives to take from the performance, with excellent effort, determination and teamwork on display throughout.

Well done to all the girls who represented Micklefield this week. They should be very proud of their performances.

Equestrian News

Congratulations to Matilda and her pony, Hopper, on proudly representing Micklefield School at their first National Schools Equestrian Association event this weekend.

We are delighted to share that they enjoyed a successful competition and did both themselves and the School proud. We wish them the very best of luck for their next event at Felbridge on 26 September.
