Girls Sport

On Thursday The Year 3 and 4 girls played Cricket matches against Lingfield School.

The Year 3 A Team put in a fantastic performance against Lingfield in a closely fought cricket match, eventually losing by just 15 runs. The girls showed brilliant determination and teamwork throughout the game.

There was some super bowling on display, with the team taking three excellent wickets. It is clear that all the hard work and practice is really starting to pay off. In the batting innings, there were some confident boundaries struck, including a few impressive 4s, alongside some lovely quick singles that kept the scoreboard moving.

Year 3 B Team girls played an adapted game of cricket which gave everyone the chance to succeed with the bat, and they all showed great determination throughout. They played really well against a strong Lingfield side, who demonstrated some excellent running between the wickets. Most importantly, the girls tried their very best and continued to improve as the game went on.

Although the result did not go our way this time, the progress and improvement from everyone was amazing to see. The team should be very proud of their effort, attitude, and sportsmanship. Well done girls!

The Year 4 girls played 3 teams against Lingfield. All 3 teams showed excellent teamwork, dynamic fielding and improved batting. 

The A team started in bat and set a fabulous score of 108, with several 6’s and a high number of 4’s on the score sheet. The girls took this momentum into their fielding and limited Lingfield to 71, winning the match by a well-deserved 37 runs.

The B team also played with great determination and really impressed Mr Baguely with their accurate bowling and strong batting. The B team secured a win by 48 runs, an absolutely fabulous achievement. 

The C team had a closely contested match, played with great spirit and sportsmanship. Lingfield on this occasion won by 20 runs. 

A huge well done to everyone, you all represented Micklefield brilliantly. 

Boys Sport 

On Thursday all the Year 3 and 4 boys played cricket matches against Chinthurst School.

The Year 3 A team had a good tight game with excellent batting seeing Micklefield to a 7 run win.

The Year 3 B team bowled straighter than Chinthurst to record a well-deserved 23 run victory.

Meanwhile the Year 4 A team played some good all round cricket to win a lovely game by 4 runs, while the B team fell to a very close 2 run defeat.

Well played to all the boys, you are all making good progress with your cricketing skills.
