Reception Celebrates Fred the Frog's 5th Birthday!

On Tuesday, Reception enjoyed a wonderfully fun surprise as they celebrated Fred the Frog’s 5th birthday!
Fred was treated to a special party, complete with a birthday cake and some thoughtful presents from his frog friends. Gifts included a fascinating tadpoles-and-frogs book, mini frog creatures to play with, and some “green words” for Fred to practise and learn.
Fred the Frog is a much-loved character from the Read Write Inc. phonics programme, designed to support children in learning to read and write. The toy frog puppet helps children practise reading and spelling by using pure sounds, known as “Fred Talk”, to build and blend words.
The children had a fantastic time joining in with party games and tucking into some delicious wiggly worm snacks!
It was a joyful and memorable celebration and the children loved every moment of making Fred feel so special.
